Freemans Quay Swimming Pool

The new leisure centre, Freeman’s Quay, in Durham City, is a £12.5M project boasting an eight lane 25M competition-standard swimming pool, a learner pool, cafe and an extensive changing village, all tiled by P Plunkett Tiling, as well as a sports hall, dance studio and large health and fitness suite. The flagship property was designed by Andrew Bottomley of William Saunders Partnership, and built by Morgan Ashurst, to replace the existing pool at Old Elvet, Durham.  Speaking at the handover ceremony, Frayser Reynolds, leader of Durham City Council, praised the standard of workmanship by Plunkett’s, and various other attendees added their own compliments. The photographs show that this project is another successful example of our expertise in the pool tiling and leisure centre market.  From the precision and attention to detail of the competition standard pool to the elegance of the Indian Stone cafe floor, P Plunkett Tiling Contractors have stamped our trademark for quailty in every aspect of this prestigious community facility.
