We are nearing completion on a prestigious commercial development called Thames Tower in Reading.  Part of the works called for us to install over 225SqM of very large format (1500x750mm) porcelain tiles to an atrium wall that climbed to over 7.5M high.  To comply with British and European Standards a mechanical fixing system was employed to supplement the normal adhesive fixing.  Tiles were fixed using Mapei Keraflex Maxi adhesive, levelling between tiles facilitated by using the Tileasy Ltd tile levelling spacer system.  Where the tiles stretched upwards of 3M above finished floor level, Raimondi Raifix stainless steel clips were installed to further secure the tiles.  These clips were plugged and screwed back to the substrate and fitted into slots cut into the back of the tile using a specialised cutting tool.  The resulting wall looks very effective but remains doubly secure.
