This news item is touched with both sadness and joy, as the end of February saw the last working day of a Plunkett’s institution, when our Company Secretary, Hazel Eden, retired.
Hazel had been with us for almost 14 years, having joined us in July 2004. Her commitment and dedication to the company has been exceptional in that period and she has been instrumental in applying many progressive changes to company procedures. Arguably her most important role was in securing the company cashflow from sometimes difficult customer accounts departments, whilst at the same time ensuring that our tilers received their appropriate wage each week. Hazel had a canny knack of getting beyond the usual barriers to speak to the “right” people and the personality to ensure that our payments were processed with the minimum of fuss, even from the most evasive of clients’ payment teams.
Hazel you will be missed by us all at Plunketts and we wish you a long and happy retirement.
