At P Plunkett Tiling Contractors Ltd we recognise our role in making sure our staff are safe at work and part of that is to make sure they are aware of the dangers posed by asbestos in the workplace. Exposure to asbestos can result in serious illness and even death; it is a highly dangerous substance that must be contained, monitored and managed.
With the safety of our employees paramount, and in accordance with recent changes to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, we have embarked upon a series of asbestos awareness courses for all our site staff, supervisors and managers.
Whilst we do not work directly with asbestos, we do increasingly work on refurbishment and renovation sites and so the likelihood of our exposure is increased. By putting our employees through the course, it is intended that we shall be more able to identify asbestos and to know the actions to be taken should we suspect that we have found asbestos in our workplace.
We treat Health and Safety very seriously at P Plunkett Tiling and try to foster a culture of awareness and positivity towards Health & Safety issues; this action is just the latest initiative in a long history of Health & Safety training that all staff undergo at P Plunkett Tiling.
